Golding establishes the importance of a need for social order in the Lord of the Flies. According to Golding, without social order there will be chaos and disruption. What do you think the conch shell represents? How important is it for the boys? What do you predict will happen?

Imagine Leadership

What does it really take to be a leader? Is it fame, success, or just plain wealth? Is leadership easy to achieve or does it take experience? This video was created by the Harvard Business School and addresses some of the core ideas that we will be talking about this week. Watch the video and post some thoughts here.

Shift Happens

Where is the future of education going? How are teachers to prepare students? This video, which was created a few years ago, puts facts and statistics around the idea of 21st Century learning. As a teacher, "Shift Happens" makes it vividly clear what needs to be done to prepare you for the future. I want you to watch the video - in fact watch it twice - because you need to understand what is happening in the world. Then I want you to post your ideas here. What did learn? What statistic/fact surprised you? Think about the video as a whole and post some thought-provoking ideas that can lead to some great discussions. The shift is happening now - are we prepared?
